Markarian’s Chain of Galaxies
Markarian's Chain: This field of view is just a bonanza of galaxies -- the closer you look, the more you see. Curving across the top are the seven that make up the eponymous Chain. The gravity-distorted ones left of center are about 50 million light years away.
A high proportion of things that aren't dots in this image are galaxies; probably a lot of the dots are too!
2 1/2 hours of integration time, an hour of which was luminance.
