The Cygnus Wall in The Hubble Palette
The Cygnus Wall is an active star-forming region, a thick area of dust and gas along the “isthmus” of the North America Nebula. I mapped my sulfur, hydrogen, and oxygen narrowband filters to red, green, and blue respectively, as the Hubble team does with many of their images. Hydrogen’s abundance drives the greenish tint.
